Sarasota Police Detectives Attempt to Identify Women Shoplifting from Dillard’s

SARASOTA, Fla. – Dec. 29, 2014 – 3:30 p.m.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are attempting to identify two women who were caught on camera stealing merchandise from Macy’s, 3501 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.

Officers were dispatched to Macy’s on December 20, 2014 in reference two women shoplifting. The loss prevention officer for the store observed the two women taking items off shelves and concealing them into a purse and other shopping bags. The loss prevention officer called the Sarasota Police Department as soon as he noticed the two women from the office, on camera, all while keeping dispatchers on the phone updated.

When the two women attempted to leave Macy’s, the loss prevention officer asked them to come back into the store and they took off running. No subjects were located but the two women shoplifting were caught on camera. When one of the women started running, she dropped a bag of items worth nearly $1,100.
