Sarasota man arrested & charged in connection to residential & commercial burglaries

SARASOTA, Fla. – April 17, 2014 – 3 p.m.

Jason Flores, 22, of 1644 8th Street, Sarasota, has been charged with:

• 2 counts of occupied burglary (felony)
• 1 count of possession of burglary tools (felony) 
• 1 count of unoccupied burglary (felony) 
• 1 count of narcotics possession (felony) 
• 1 count of burglary structure unoccupied (felony) 

in connection to several burglaries in the City of Sarasota.  More charges are pending.  

Flores’ charges are in connection to four burglaries.  Flores has been charged with a commercial burglary which happened in the morning (1899 Fruitville Rd) before burglarizing three other residences (2466 Loma Linda, 2380 Bahia Vista St and 2253 Bahia Vista Rd).  Flores was arrested when he was seen by officers running in an area neighborhood.

“Here is a great example of people watching out for one another and what it can result in.  Thanks to an observant resident calling 911, our officers were able to apprehend Flores.  We just want to remind residents, lock it up.  Lock your homes, your vehicles and your screen doors to your homes and protect yourself.  If you see something suspicious, call 911,” said Lt.
