Detectives Attempt to Identify Strong Arm Robbery Suspect

SARASOTA, Fla. – Jan. 9, 2015 – 10 a.m.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who is a suspect in a strong arm robbery that occurred on December 30, 2014 at Walgreens, 1947 Fruitville Road, Sarasota.

The clerk told officers the suspect didn’t say anything but when she was giving change to a customer, the suspect reached across the counter into an open cash drawer. The clerk reacted by pushing the suspect away and there was a short struggle before the suspect ran out the door. The suspect may have taken an undisclosed amount of cash and had a soda in his hand. The clerk was shaken up but had no injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, light short hair, last seen wearing gray cargo shorts, white or gray t-shirt, black sneakers, white socks, black baseball hat with writing on the front.
