UPDATE: Both the individuals from the photos outside Sarasota Memorial Hospital have been identified. Neither of the men are suspects and no charges are expected at this time.
The cause of death of Derek Dewey is still unknown at this time. Again, there is no danger to the public. An autopsy and toxicology report are being conducted and could take several weeks.

SARASOTA, Fla. – June 2, 2015 – 8:30 a.m.
Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals who were possible witnesses in a death investigation over the weekend. At this time, investigators are confident there is no danger to the public. The victim is Derek Dewey, 28, last known address, 4900 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
Descriptions of the two individuals are as follows:
• Individual one
o White male
o Approximately 30 years old
o Heavy set
o Brown or black hair
o Last seen wearing shorts, tennis shoes, white t-shirt
• Individual two
o Black male
o Mid-to-late 20’s
o Thin build
o Last seen wearing jeans, white t-shirt, Nike sandals
The two individuals left Sarasota Memorial Hospital at approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday in a dark colored, possibly blue, Dodge minivan. The two men left the victim at the hospital and left no information about the victim or themselves. Several photos of the individuals and the minivan are attached.
