SARASOTA, Fla. – July 1, 2015 – 2 p.m.
Tomorrow, Thursday, July 2, 2015, Chief Bernadette DiPino will hold a swearing-in ceremony for six (6) new Sarasota Police Officers. The Swearing-In Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Community Room of the Sarasota Police Department, 2099 Adams Lane, Sarasota.
Chief DiPino added, "I’m excited to add these outstanding officers to our force. These officers embody the qualities the Sarasota Police Department values which are professionalism, dedication and commitment to our community." The following officers join the Sarasota Police Department as 2nd Class Probation:
• Officer Kayla Anderson
• Officer Amber DeFrancisco
• Officer Angie Grindstaff
• Officer Daniel Furner
• Officer Bryan Lundstrum
• Officer Larry McQueen
Officer Kayla Anderson is from Moscow, Russia but grew up in Sarasota. She graduated from Venice High School and Florida State University. Officer Anderson most recently served with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Amber DeFrancisco is from Sarasota. She graduated from Riverview High School and the University of South Florida.
Officer Angie Grindstaff is from North Carolina and most recently served as a Police Officer with the Marion Police Department in North Carolina.
Officer Daniel Furner is from Sarasota. He graduated from Sarasota High School and spent nine years in the United States Marine Corps. Officer Bryan Lundstrum is from Sarasota. He graduated from Riverview High School and the University of South Florida. He holds a Masters in Criminal Justice and served as a Military Police Captain in the United States Army.
Officer Larry McQueen is from New Jersey and most recently served 20 years with the New York Police Department and retired as the rank of Detective.
