Texas Fugitive Wanted for Terroristic Threats Arrested in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. – July 2, 2015 – 10:30 a.m.

Officers with the Sarasota Police Department working in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service, Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force have arrested Douglas Esposito, 52, of Woodlands, Texas, in Sarasota. Esposito is a fugitive from justice wanted in Montgomery County, Texas for making terroristic threats.

Sarasota Police Officers received information that Esposito was staying with a friend in the City of Sarasota. Esposito was arrested on June 23, 2015 at 1628 9th Street, Sarasota, without incident.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Woodlands, Texas, is investigating this case. According to deputies in Texas, Esposito made a call to Costco Wholesale Center in Woodlands, Texas on May 22, 2015. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Esposito told the associate at Costco, "listen carefully; someone in the store has a bomb." Esposito was identified as the individual who phoned the bomb scare into the store and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
