Attempt to Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

SARASOTA, FL. – May 2, 2017   – 8:30 a.m.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are attempting to identify an armed robbery suspect who showed a firearm and demanded cash at the Circle K/Shell station, 1801 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, at approximately 3 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017.  Three photos of the suspect are below.

The suspect entered the store wearing a black mask with a black handgun at his waist, demanded money and threatened to do harm if the demand was not met.  The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’5” tall, heavy build, approximately 30-40 years of age, last seen wearing light colored pants, light colored shoes and a dark colored shirt.

The employee, who was not injured, gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash and the suspect then fled the store on foot.  Anyone with any information on this case is asked to call Sarasota Police Detective Patrick Comac at 941-702-1686.
