2 men arrested following burglary attempt on Windsor Drive in Sarasota Monday morning

SARASOTA, Fla. -- June 6, 2017 -- 2:30 p.m.

On Monday, June 5, 2017 at approximately 10 a.m., Sarasota Police Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Windsor Drive, Sarasota, in reference to a residential burglary that occurred.

The victim told Officers he returned home and saw a young black male in his living room.  The victim said the male ran out of the house but he heard more subjects in his bedroom.  The victim walked outside to call 9-1-1 and he saw an additional two black males fleeing out of the front window.

Two of the suspects, Raekwon Bryant and Christopher Taylor, were detained by Officers at the corner of 42nd Street and Rilma Avenue.  Bryant was found to have several jewelry items in his possession that belonged to the victim and the victim’s roommate.  The two have been charged with:

Charges:
Burglary to a dwelling, unoccupied (Felony)
Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) without violence (Misdemeanor)

·       Christopher Taylor, 18
1316 12th Street, Sarasota
Charges: 
Burglary to a dwelling, unoccupied(Felony)
Possession of burglary tools(Felony)
Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) without violence(Misdemeanor)

Both men were transported to the Sarasota County Jail.
