SARASOTA, FL. – June 7, 2017 – 11:30 a.m.
The Sarasota Police Department is taking social media followers on another “virtual ride-along.” Monday, June 12, 2017, beginning at 6 a.m., Twitter users can “ride along” for another ‘Tweet from the Beat’ with Patrol Officers during day shift.
Patrol Officer Devin Epps will share what he says and does through texts, videos, GIFs and various photos. The Partnership Policing Communications Coordinator will tweet on behalf of Officer Epps. Followers on Twitter @SarasotaPD will be able to ask questions and interact with the Sarasota Police Department while they are on patrol.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our local and virtual community to interact and communicate with our Officers in the city we protect and serve,” said Chief Bernadette DiPino. “Our ‘Tweet from the Beat’ program has been successful with residents and law enforcement from here in the City of Sarasota as well as throughout the country as they interact with us and take a virtual ride with our officers,” said Chief DiPino.
To join the Sarasota Police Department in the “Tweet from the Beat” virtual ride along: Twitter users can follow the Sarasota Police Department under the handle @SarasotaPD. To create a Twitter account, users can visit to www.twitter.com and sign up. It’s easy, quick and free. Once an account is created, users can follow @SarasotaPD
