Help Sarasota Police ‘Pack the Patrol Car’ with Back to School Supplies

SARASOTA, FL. – August 1, 2017   – 9:30 a.m.

Students in Sarasota return to school on August 14, 2017.  Before students head back to class, the Sarasota Police Department wants the help of the community to ‘Pack the Patrol Car’ with school supplies for the upcoming school year. 

Sarasota Police Officers will be accepting school supplies from Wednesday, August 2, 2017 through Wednesday, August 9, 2017 for the inaugural ‘Pack the Patrol Car.’  School supply donations can be dropped off from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. in the lobby of the Sarasota Police Department, 2099 Adams Lane, Sarasota.

Officers will then deliver all donated school supplies to the 2nd Annual Unity in the Community Event at the Newtown Estates Park, 2800 Newtown Blvd., on Sunday, August 13, 2017.  School supplies will be distributed to students by the Barbershop Men of Prayer Group between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on August 13th.

Sarasota Police are accepting supplies for all ages and grade levels.  Pencils, pens, folders, notebooks, glue, markers, crayons erasers, paper, etc.  Event volunteers will breakdown all donations by grade level and distribute items as  needed by each student.
