Sarasota Police Attempt to Identify Armed Robbery Suspects

SARASOTA, FL. – August 3, 2017   – 2 p.m.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying two armed robbery suspects who demanded money from employees at Walgreens located at 3535 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.  The armed robbery occurred last night, Wednesday, August 2, at approximately 11 p.m.

The two suspects entered the Walgreens wearing all black, wearing masks and armed with handguns.  The suspects demanded the store employee give them all of the money from the cash register.  The suspects took the whole cash drawer with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.  The suspects fled westbound towards Norwood Court and possibly fled the area in an unknown vehicle. 

Witnesses described the suspects as:
Suspect 1:
Black male or female, 5’10”, average build, last seen wearing black pants, a black mask, black hoodie and blue shoes.

Suspect 2:
Black female, 5’6”, heavy build, last seen wearing black pants, a black mask, black hoodie and tan boots.
